IMB Alerts
Stay in touch with IMB Alerts. IMB Alerts keep you up to date by sending you SMS or email alerts regarding you banking. Account Alerts help you keep track of your finances and Internet Banking Security Alerts to help keep you safe online. IMB Alerts sent via email are free of charge. IMB Alerts on loan accounts are free of charge. For all other accounts, each IMB Alert sent via SMS will incur a small fee of 25 cents. For more information refer to IMB’s PDS Fees, Charges and Limits.
You can register for IMB Alerts in internet banking. Simply log in to internet banking and head to the Alerts tab. From here you can register, edit and de-register all of your IMB Alerts. For information on Internet Banking Security Alerts see the Alerts page within Internet Banking. Terms and Conditions apply to Account Alerts and Internet Banking Security Alerts.

Ready to register for IMB Alerts? Log in to Internet Banking and head to the Alerts tab. If you don't have Internet Banking, you can register for that here or see 'How to Register' for easy to follow step by step registration.
You can register for alerts via internet banking, in branch, over the phone or by mail. Simply follow the steps below:
Registering via internet banking
- Log in to internet banking
- Click on the Alerts tab and select Register and De-register Alerts
- Select the Alert you wish to register and click on the orange dots under Action beside that Alert
- Select Register

Choose to receive your alerts via secure mail within internet banking, by SMS or by email.
NOTE: SMS Alerts are charged at .25c per SMS. IMB Everyday Unlimited and IMB Everyday Unlimited Kick Start Accounts include 5 FREE Alerts each month. - Click submit.
Registering in branch
- Download the ‘Alerts Registration and Maintenance’ form here or pick up a copy from your local branch
- Complete and sign the form
- Take it to your local IMB branch
- If you don’t have a teleservices password, or can’t remember your existing teleservices password, we also recommend you add or update your password while you are at your local branch.
Registering over the phone
To register over the phone you will need your teleservices password. If you don’t have a teleservices password or can’t remember your password you can apply for one following the steps below. If you do have a teleservices password simply call us on 133 462.

1. What are IMB Alerts? |
IMB Alerts offer you a better way to stay in touch with your finances via alerts sent directly to your mobile phone or email inbox. You can request to receive alerts for a variety of events on your accounts and can choose to receive alerts via SMS and/or email. |
2. Who can register for IMB Alerts? |
Any IMB account holder, or person authorised by you to operate your account, can register to receive alerts on that account. |
3. How much do IMB Alerts cost? |
IMB Alerts sent via email are free. IMB Alerts on loan accounts are free. For all other accounts, each IMB Alert sent via SMS will incur a small fee of 25 cents . For details of the fees applicable to your account types, please refer to IMB’s PDS Fees, Charges and Limits. If you have an Everyday Unlimited Account you can receive five free SMS alerts per month. |
4. When are IMB Alerts sent? |
IMB Alerts are sent between the hours of 8am and 11pm, 7 days a week. Any alerts triggered after 11pm will be held over until 8am the next morning and then sent to you via your preferred delivery method. |
5. What types of alerts can I receive and when will I receive them? |
Receive your available balance weekly, fortnightly or monthly. This alert will be sent at your chosen frequency between the hours of 8am and 11pm.
Be notified when a deposit equal to or greater than a nominated amount takes place on your account (e.g. your salary). This alert will be sent immediately (i.e. as soon as a deposit equal to, or above, the nominated amount is made to your account) between the hours of 8am and 11pm.
Be notified when a withdrawal equal to or greater than a nominated amount takes place on your account. This alert will be sent immediately (i.e. as soon as a withdrawal equal to or above the nominated amount is made to your account) between the hours of 8am and 11pm.
Be notified if your account has insufficient funds for payment of a cheque. This alert will be sent between the hours of 8am and 11pm.
Be notified if your account has insufficient funds for payment of a direct debit. This alert will be sent between the hours of 8am and 11pm.
Be notified if your account has insufficient funds for payment of a regular/periodical payment. This alert will be sent between the hours of 8am and 11pm.
Receive an alert when your account becomes overdrawn. This alert will be sent immediately at the time of your account being overdrawn between the hours of 8am and 11pm. You should contact IMB on 133 462 if you are unable to repay the amount for any reason.
Be notified when your required credit or equity line repayment has been missed. This alert will be sent the day after your repayment is due, between the hours of 8am and 11pm. You should contact IMB on 133 462 if you are unable to make the repayment for any reason. Tip:To avoid the instance of a missed or late repayment, set up a direct debit from your IMB account.

6. Does my available balance include cheques or visa authorisations? |
No, your available balance only includes funds that are available for you to use. |
7. What accounts can I have IMB Alerts set up on? |
Regular Balance, Deposit, Withdrawal, Dishonor, Overdrawn Balance & Overdue Credit & Equity Line Alerts may be established on these accounts:
An overdue loan repayment alert may be established on any IMB personal, home or business loan account. |

9. How do I delete or amend IMB Alerts? |
You can amend or delete some or all of your alerts via internet banking, in branch, over the phone or by mail. Simply follow the steps below: Amending or deleting alerts via internet banking

10. What phones can receive IMB Alerts? |
Any Australian mobile phone capable of receiving SMS can receive IMB Alerts. |
11. Will I still receive IMB Alerts via SMS when I am overseas? |
If you have international roaming on your phone you will still receive alerts and they will be at the relevant Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) or Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT). Please be aware your service provider may impose higher charges for receiving SMS while overseas. You should contact your service provider directly to confirm the fees and charges. If you are unsure whether your phone will receive alerts when you are overseas, you can register for alerts by email instead of/as well as SMS. |
12. What should I do if I lose my phone or my phone is stolen? |
Contact IMB on 133 462 (Monday - Friday 8am - 8pm or Saturday 9am - 4pm) and we can de-register your alerts. |
13. What do I do if I get a new phone? |
If your number is remaining the same you don’t need to do anything. If you have a new number, you will need to update your details by contacting IMB on 133 462 (Monday - Friday 8am - 8pm or Saturday 9am - 4pm). If you are still able to receive SMS messages to your old phone number you can log into Internet Banking and update number by selecting the “Other Services” tab and then “Personal Details”. 14. The mobile number I have linked to alerts has changed. What do I need to do? |
Please contact IMB on 133 462 (Monday - Friday 8am - 8pm or Saturday 9am - 4pm) to advise us of your new number. If you are still able to receive SMS messages to your old phone number you can log into internet banking and update your new number by selecting the “Other Services” tab and then “Personal Details”. 16. What happens if I don't receive my IMB Alerts? |
Contact IMB to confirm that your contact details are correct. In the case of a particular alert, IMB will be able to confirm that the alert was sent. If you are still not receiving alerts, you will need to contact your mobile phone or email service provider to investigate the problem. |
